The Robinsons Big Fruit Hunt (BFH) is an augmented reality game provided by Britvic Soft Drinks Limited. This Privacy Policy will help you understand what information we collect, how we use it and what choices you have when you play this game or when we collect personal information whether offline or online including through any of our websites (“Websites”) in addition to software applications, branded pages on third party platforms or electronic messaging.

Britvic Soft Drinks Limited (“Britvic”) is a leading soft drinks company and, like most businesses, holds and processes a wide range of information about individuals. Britvic respects your right to privacy. We are a soft drinks manufacturer headquartered in the United Kingdom with group companies all around the world. Britvic PLC is the holding company.

What personal information do we collect and why?

We need to collect and use certain personal information to provide services to you and fulfil the promises we make to you in our Terms and Conditions. The personal information that we may collect about you broadly falls into the following categories:

Information that you provide voluntarily

Certain parts of our Websites may ask you to provide personal information voluntarily, for example, we may ask you to provide your contact details to register an account with us, to subscribe to marketing communications from us, to submit enquiries to us and/or to comment on or evaluate our products or Websites. For BFH specifically, you are asked to provide your telephone number for us to register you as a player and to authenticate your game play. We will also ask you to verify your age for restricted parts of the game, such as sharing face filters on your socials. For prize fulfilment, you are asked to provide your name, your email address, and a delivery address so that we can provide you with rewards.

Information that we collect automatically

The BFH is a location-based game where the core feature is to provide an augmented reality gameplay experience tied to your real-world location, so we need to know where you are to operate the game and to plan the location of our fruits. We identify your location using a variety of technologies, including GPS, the Wi-Fi points you are accessing the game through and mobile/cell tower triangulation. This will also include device identifiers, device operating system and model, as well as permissions for camera, location, and motion to locally derive AR geospatial data from your device to operate the game. Wherever possible, we will only use anonymised data.

Some of this information may be collected using cookies and similar tracking technology, as explained further under the heading Cookies and similar tracking technology below.

Information that we obtain from third party sources

From time to time, we may receive personal information about you (e.g. your name, address, email address and telephone number for contact purposes) from third party sources, including companies which facilitate our competitions, provide media services to us, or support us with our corporate communications, but only where we have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us, for example, where they have a legitimate interest to do so.

Who we share information with

For BFH, we have engaged third party data processors to assist us in providing the game to you. As part of that they will process your personal information on our behalf in line with this policy. The service providers we use help us to:

  • Perform content moderation and crash analytics

  • Provide technical and customer support

Legal basis for processing personal information

You don't have to give us your information, but if you don't, you will be unable to play the BFH game and we won't be able to communicate with you. Sometimes that means that we won't be able to respond to a question. It might also affect our ability to look into and report back to you on an issue you've raised. Other times, it might mean you won't be able to participate in a promotion or competition we're running (or that we won't be able to send you a prize if you win!).

Marketing

Children under the age of 13

If you're a child under the age of 13, please DO NOT send us any information about yourself unless one of your parents or a guardian has agreed to us having that information and you can show us that they have agreed. If we learn that we have collected any personal information for a child, and we do not have parent/guardian consent, we will take steps to delete the data soon as possible.

The BFH is a family game however account creation is for persons over the age of 18 and as such Britvic recommends that parents/guardians monitor their child’s online activity and use of the game should they allow them to play. Please note that if a child does play the game, Britvic will collect and use the device location and other personal information listed above (which may therefore relate to the child) to operate the game and provide related services which may be undertaken by third parties.

Data retention

We keep your information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for. In considering how long to keep it, we will take into account its relevance to our business and our legal and regulatory obligations.
